Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force organized an elegant farewell dinner in appreciation of the services rendered by Senior Officers of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force who retired recently.
The occasion was held on 03 April 2018 at the Officers Mess of Headquarters Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force with the gracious presence of the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General Piyal Wickramaratne and Mrs. Ruvini Wicrkamaratne. The arrival of distinguished guests was heralded by a fanfare and they were warmly welcomed to the Officers Mess. The evening was coloured by the attendance of the retired senior Officers including Brigadier J S U Katugampala, Brigadier H P J Mayadunne, Colonel P A Dayananda, Colonel C U Gamaethige, Colonel A I Ranasinghe and Colonel R R S Jayasekara along with their ladies, serving Senior Officers and the Staff of the Volunteer Force.
The Senior Officers shared a cheerful moment with the gathering while recollecting memories of good olden days amidst the tune of the Band. Brigadier T T P Silva who is the President of the Mess Committee of the Officers Mess recollected the distinguished services rendered by the retired senior Officers.
Major General Piyal Wickramaratne gave away the souvenirs to the retired senior Officers in appreciation of their services to the organization and Madam Ruvini Wicrkamaratne presented special gifts to their ladies.
Afterwards, Brigadier J S U Katugampala, on behalf of all retired Officers expressed his profound sense of gratitude to all personnel whose support had been highly instrumental in discharging their duties in their military career.
