A three-storied building which was constructed for accommodation of soldiers of the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force was declared open by Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General M H S B Perera as the Chief Guest on 20 November 2017. This was constructed under the second stage of reconstructing the SLAVF.
The proceedings of a dignified ceremony started with the arrival of the Chief Guest and accompanied by the Principal Staff Officer to the venue. Following the religious observances, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force unveiled the plaque and inspected the accommodation area. Afterwards, the Chief Guest planted a sapling of a tree symbolizing the preservation of the greenery concept. Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force while addressing the Officers & the Other Ranks, appreciated the contribution of members of the 10th (V) Engineer Services Regiment who are involved the construction process of the project and the Officers and the Other Ranks of the Volunteer Force towards his endeavour in rebuilding the Volunteer Force Headquarters.
