THE VOLUNTEER FORCE OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY CELEBRATES 68TH ARMY DAY

Headquarters of  the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force has organized a series of events coincide with the main ceremony conducted at the Army Cantonment in Panagoda celebrating the 68th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army since its inception on 10 October 1949. In connection with the Army day programme, the Headquarters has organized a cleaning programme at Government Hospital Kosgama participated by Senior Officers and Other Ranks on 04 October.

The Army Day events at the Headquarters premises were accomplished under the auspices of Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General M H S B Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc. The Army Day parade organized at the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on Tuesday (10) was graced by the Principal Staff Officer Brigadier K W R De Abrew RWP RSP USP who hoisted the Flag of the Volunteer Force of the Sri Lanka Army and read the message of the Commander of the Army issued to mark the 68th Army Day. Thereafter, a tree sapling was planted and the 68th Army Day celebrations were culminated with an All Ranks tea.

A large gathering of members of the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force including civil servants attended the events of the 68th Army Day.
