Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General M H S B Perera directed to implement 5 S Concept among Branches of the Headquarters, Training School and all Volunteer Battalions with the aim of enhancing efficiency and productivity while creating friendly work environment for the members. While the programme being closely monitored over the time, a competition was held to evaluate its success to appreciate the endeavours.
Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the winners of the competition on implementation of 5 S Concept was held at Indoor Stadium of National Youth Centre Maharagama on 25 June 2017 with the gracious presence of Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General M H S B Perera as the Chief Guest.
The winners were given away cash prizes, trophies and certificates by Professor Suranga Nanayakkara of Singapore University of Technology and Design and Mr. Manjula Vidanapathirana, Assistant Secretary of Productivity Secretariat. 19 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment was adjudged the Best Battalion. 15 (V) The Gemunu Watch and 5 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment secured the second and third positions respectively.
